The following F.A.Q.
apply to the Annual Miss Pearfection Beauty Pageant contestants,
Seasonal Models, Assignment Models. Please contact the office to
determine the class of model(s) we are currently seeking.
As the modeling /
compensation package will vary.
Question: What is
Celestrial-Event.com about?
Answer: Celestrial-Event.com is the first company of it's kind catering
to larger women in a “self-reflective" way. We have excellent
photographers, excellent vendors and offer unique apparel and garments
for full figure women.
Question: How old must
I be to model?
Answer: You must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
Question: Are there
any weight, height and age limits?
Answer: We do have a minimum weight limit, we prefer all applicants to
be at least 190lbs. Applicants must be a minimum 5’5” in height and
between the ages of 18-60.
Question: Are tattoos,
stretch marks and scars a problem?
Answer: Why of course not.
Question: Do I have to
be based in Chicago to model for Celestrial-Event.com?
Answer: No, if you are chosen to model for us and you live outside of
Chicago, we may fly you here for your on stage Performances.
Question: Do I need
professional photos taken to apply to be a model?
Answer: No!! We do want great photos, but not necessarily professional.
That way you don't have to spend money on the photos you send to us. We
want to see you as comfortable as possible, don't hide your curves, show
your figure because you may not like parts of your body, but the rest of
the world may LOVE them.
Question: Have I got
what it takes to be a Celestrial-Event.com model?
Answer: People often ask us this question. You need to ask yourself, are
you comfortable in your appearance? To represent larger women and
yourself in a confident, fashionable and positive content? Do you feel
comfortable being viewed as a plus-size woman? Take a look at any of our
DVDs and ask yourself again, "Do I have what it takes"? Am I curvy
enough? Do I have a narrow waist and wide hips? If the answer is yes,
then contact us.
Question: How do I go
about modeling for Celestrial-Event.com?
Answer: By emailing us at
models@celestrial-event.com
and requesting the required paperwork, or through our get discovered
page! We will post your bio and resume on our website! It's a fun and
affordable way of being seen.
Question: Do you have
auditions or open casting calls?
Answer: Auditions calls only.
Question: When I
apply, do I have to send in pictures?
Answer: Yes, please submit two full-length images and your resume/bio if
you have one. If you don't have access to the Internet or you don't have
images in email (jpeg format only), you can submit your application etc.

Question: Are your
models just from the USA?
Answer: No.
Question: Do I have to
spend any money to be a Celestrial-Event.com?
Answer: Yes, there is a non-refundable $150.00 registration fee (Annual
Miss Pearfection Beauty Pageant)
Question: What is
involved with the $150.00 non-refundable registration fee? What do I get
for the $150.00.
Answer: Models who
successfully complete the training and Perform etc are offered:
a) A DVD of their Performance b) A mini portfolio (two head shots & two
clothing changes) c) three images of their choice from their
Performance, and their images on the Celestrial-Event.com website! The
following must occur within thirty (30) days of your performance. You
will be mailed a DVD of the Performance. You must make arrangements to
sit for your mini-portfolio and select which images you want from the
Performance. If you fail to make arrangements for your mini portfolio
and select your images from the Performance within thirty (30) days of
your performance. They will be forfeited.
Question: Does paying
the $150.00 registration fee guarantee my placement as a model?
Answer: No,
the fee covers our expenses. You must still abide by our rules and
regulations, attend rehearsals etc. Your involvement with
Celestrial-Event.com may be canceled at any time for violations of our
rules and regulations.
Question: If I have
applied and was rejected can I apply again?
Answer: Yes, there are
many reasons for this. Your look may change or you may get a new
hairstyle or something has changed about you. Plus, when you are on file
we like to update your pictures with new fresh ones, because you never
really know when you might get a call.
Question: Do I have
to purchase a garment from one of your vendors and take a picture with
it on for my submission?
Answer: No, unless otherwise stated by one of our staff members.
Question: How are
your models chosen?
Answer:
Models are selected to join Celestrial-Event.com from a combination of
confidence and fashion sense from the photos sent in to general
demeanor, decorum and representation of being a full figured woman.
Looking at your pictures, communication via email and phone
conversations achieves this with you. It's not just about having a
pretty face and great hips. You might wonder how we are able to tell
this from a picture, but believe us, we can tell.
Question: How long do
I have to wait before I get a response from my application?
Answer: It varies on when the producer sits down and goes thru
submissions that the staff has compiled and sent to him. It may take as
short as 24 hours to as long as 6 months. Also, if you do not follow the
rules for out-of-town models, your submission will be deleted, so
following instructions is very important.
Question: Is there
travel involved if I become a model?
Answer: If you are chosen to model, we make travel arrangements for you
to come out to Chicago, IL for your on stage Performance. This is not a
FULL TIME job, it's a one time offer unless you are invited back. So
this does not interfere with your regular life. We also work on
scheduling a time that is favorable for you and us.
Question: How much
time is required to become a model?
Answer: In most cases there's the a) interview b) screen-test, unless we
have an event that requires models to be available immediately,
depending on how fast you pickup the routine. Then we will ask if you
can make it, if yes then fine; if you can't that's fine.
Question: Do you pay
your models? Are model required to sell tickets?
Answer: NO. Models are compensated for their modeling services, based on
their popularity with our clients and vendors. Tickets are sold to view
the events LIVE and in person. The cost of a ticket is very, very low,
usually about $25. Models are given (5) five tickets to distribute to
family and friends. Out-of -town models may be asked to sell a minimum
of (5) five Internet tickets, remember our Fashion Performances are not
for the public in general. These are not public events.
Celestrial-Event.com produces fashion Performances for the purposes of
drawing attention to our: National and Local fashion designers, our
global market of supporters and the families and friends of the
participating models.
Question: Do you
cover travel expenses?
Answer: Sometimes, depending on agreements etc.
Question: Can I
bring my significant other?
Answer: Yes, to an interview, not to auditions or screen tests. They can
come with you to an interview at your own expense, but will not be
allowed on sets.
Question: What is a
photo shoot like?
Answer: It's FUN and that's the truth. We create a fun, safe and
professional environment. We have had no complaints and we'd like to
keep it that way.
Question: Who is on
set of a shoot?
Answer: For a typical shoot we may have a makeup (female) and hair
(female) person, our photographer (male), the Producer, other staff
members and sometimes current and or former models.
Question: Who are your
Celestrial-Event.com models?
Answer: Our current Official Celestrial-Event.com models can be seen two
weeks prior to air date. We will post a link to the current photo
gallery page.
Question: How can I contact the producer and does he answer his
email?
Answer: You may contact him at:

He usually answers in 24 hours or less.
Question. Does other
Celestrial-Event.com staffers answer their email?
Answer: Yes, but please remember sometimes it might take a while for
them to get back to you because we are get tons of email. Also please be
appropriate when contacting us.
Question: When do you
have your Fashion Shows (Performances) events? And are they webcast?
Answer: We announce all our planned events on our
http://celestrial-event.com/coming_soon.htm
section of our
website. Yes, they are shown via the Internet worldwide on the date of
the actual event.
Question: How do I get
a Celestrial-Event.com T-shirt or Hat?
Answer: All T-shirts are ready. No hats at this time.
Question: How often do
you have open calls?
Answer: It's an on-going process; we conduct Performances several times
a year.
Question: Who attends
your Fashion Performances?
Answer: Celestrial-Event.com fashions
Performance are non-public events. We generate footage that is webcast
worldwide for the purposes of drawing attention to the garments and
apparel featured. Although the general public isn’t invited, families,
friends of the models are encouraged to attend. A light dinner is also
offered for those present.
Question: How do I get
a DVD or VHS copy of a Performance?
Answer: Please visit our website at
http://Celestrial-Event.com.
Look under the DVD tab.
Question: How are the
DVD mailed out?
Answer: They are mailed two times monthly. Please allow 3-4 weeks for
domestic and four weeks for foreign orders.
Question: Can I order
copies of my pictures? How long do I have to wait to get them, if I
order online?
Answer: Yes, two to three weeks. However, please email us for
instructions.
Question: Are previous
Performances still available on DVD?
Answer: Yes, but only online click the DVD link on the website.
Question: How do I get
a subscription to your newsletter?
Answer: Currently the only way to get subscriptions is to use the form
available at the registration desk at our Performances.
Question: With a
subscription, do I start receiving news and updates about other
Celestrial-Event.com projects?
From your first newsletter, you will receive news and information vital
to keeping pace with us!
Do you have an online
version?
Answer: No, not at this time, but with the high demand we are seriously
considering it.
Question: How do I
donate or volunteer with Celestrial-Event.com?
